Background:
A rich and talented wizard that comes from a long line of powerful witches and wizards, Drosselmeyer (known never by his first name) was poised to be great in school, excelling in Charms, History of Magic and especially Divination. Even as a young child, he showed signs of inheriting his ancestors' gift of Premonition and Prophecy, and was favored as a very excellent Seer. Sadly it seems that Drosselmeyer, whether for the tragedies in his life or some other secret reason, fell off his rocker. After being in St. Mungo's for quite a few years for his sadistic tendencies and poor behavior toward his children (who have since relocated with their mother out of their native Germany), Drosselmeyer is once again free and finds a new job and life as a professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. At present his current residence is a small condo near Convent Garden in London, England.

Drosselmeyer has two children, Clara and Fritz, who he writes letters to and stories for often but very rarely sees due to his condition. They have families of their own that Drosselmeyer has never been able to meet due to his condition. Their mother, his wife Antigone, (who is ill and currently living with Clara) has a severe dislike of him now and has almost no contact with him unless through her children; Drosselmeyer treats her as kindly as he can through his sadism, which most people wouldn't consider very kind at all.

Personality:
Drosselmeyer, in one word, is crazy. He often finds pleasure in other peoples' suffering; the Healers treating him at St. Mungo's have speculated this may be due to insecurity, but they never really found many emotional signs to prove this is true. When he has a premonition of something that is to come, Drosselmeyer often will try and manipulate the people its about so that they bring down the misfortune he predicted upon themselves. He's quite intelligent and always has a response to any question thrown at him...but he is quite prone to manipulate people for his own amusement. He's often a very happy person, but, again, is happiest when others are upset. Besides his enjoyment of others' sadness, however, Drosselmeyer sincerely like writing stories and young children, particularly children with wide imaginations. Drosselmeyer can be a bit irritable when he doesn't get his way, and often if he has a troublesome student, he might take the opportunity to transfigure the student into a random animal for as long as he can get away with it. He has a particular fondness for Muggle fairy tales and making and performing with Muggle marionettes. One thing is certain, though; if you want to confide in or ask advice from someone, that someone should not be Herr Drosselmeyer.

Class Profile- Magic in Literature:
Magic in Literature is a course examining the written interpretations of Muggles about magical events, creatures, etc. (such as fairy tales) and drawing comparisons and explanations from them. Students will have to do such things as cite differences in Muggle interpretations of magical creatures, offer up explanations as to why Muggle accounts of magical events and creatures are different and find real life spells that are represented in Muggle fairy tales.

liedohneworter (Autor): Drosselmeyer quite enjoyed reading the woes of the young man in love with the dark-haired woman in love with someone else, and now that he's met Autor over the journals and discovering Autor's fanatical idealism of him, Drosselmeyer is looking very forward to having Autor in his class so he can manipulate him to do his dirty work.

hime_no_karasu (Rue): The owner of another journal he's been hacking and reading, Rue seems like a perfect heroine for Drosselmeyer's next tragedy. He knows of her unreturned feelings for Mytho and finds much amusement in it; at present he thinks it would be most amusing to manipulate her to aid Mytho when the young Hufflepuff is in conflict about his feelings with Ahiru.

magicalmophead (Mytho): Mytho is the most intriguing character that Drosselmeyer has encountered thus far. He's enrolled in his class and Drosselmeyer is looking forward to watching him squirm in his place as the center of a love triangle. The old teacher knows that there is a dark secret that Mytho is hiding, and although Drosselmeyer doesn't know what it is yet, he is determined to learn it.

sonenschein (Ahiru): Drosselmeyer finds much amusement from the cheerful, innocent, clumsy Ahiru. At first he had little interest in her as she was such a happy young person that seemed to have no problems...but as soon as she became involved with a love triangle with Fakir and Mytho, Drosselmeyer decided that he would have no greater joy than to interfere with it.

wizard_knight (Fakir): Fakir seems a useful player to Drosselmeyer with him being Mytho's overprotective guardian both interfering with Rue getting to Mytho and interfering with Mytho being happy with Ahiru. It is unlikely that Drosselmeyer will feel any fondness for Fakir judging his tendency to get involved with anything that could possibly hurt Mytho, but Drosselmeyer has found a very strange connection to Fakir in some of his scrying sessions, a connection enough to make Drosselmeyer wonder if the young Slytherin has had experience with prophecy before...

germanwitch (Pique): Of all the players in the love conflict Drosselmeyer has been focusing on, Pique is the one Drosselmeyer has the least interest in. Her shown interest in both Mytho and Fakir, very similar to Ahiru's, however, has drawn his interest and Drosselmeyer is looking forward to having her in his class.
